IWP started out in 1982 in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, as an importer of timber wood treatments and finishes from Europe – serving as the inspiration for our name ‘International Wood Protection’.

As a nod to Denmark and the Netherlands as major users of timber framed products, The Dansk was added to our name and by the early 1990s, we had outgrown our old premises and moved to Leeds.

During this period of expansion we became a major distributor for a Dutch timber repair system enabling property owners to repair rather than replace timber frames.

Since then, we have worked with organisations all over the country including housing associations, universities and conservation experts to preserve some of the most diverse housing stock in the UK – even a lighthouse!

With over 30 years of experience in repairing, restoring, draught proofing and upgrading sash windows, we can do everything from 1960s clasp windows to 400-year-old listed buildings.

We replace sash windows with bespoke units manufactured in our purpose-built heritage joinery workshop – an invaluable service when no two windows are the same!

Now based in Normanton, West Yorkshire, we have grown and diversified with the ever-changing construction industry and now offer a range of high quality services across all sectors of the industry.

In recent years, we have further expanded and now offer the recycling of crown glass and restoration of stained glass along with the recreation of hand cast brass and bronze ironmongery.

At IWP (Dansk) Ltd, we are considered one of the leading specialists in the restoration of windows and timber, a material that cannot be matched on durability and sustainability.
