In 1982, IWP Dansk became the main UK distributor for a range of unique wood repair products and since then we have amassed a great deal of experience in the repair, maintenance and conservation of existing timber joinery.
There are major advantages to the resin repair products used by IWP Dansk. They offer good adhesion and slump resistance, contain no pigment or extenders, are easy to dispense and mix and offer the same characteristics and longevity as wood. We carry full details of our products and their specification to know how to carefully and safely apply them to the substrate we are working on.
We use these products extensively in our repair services as well as supplying a wide range of professional repair and protection products and specialist training in how to use them.
We can repair any timber from windows, shopfronts, cupolas, decorative beam and even lighthouses (we’ve even used it on a Massey Ferguson)!
Don’t forget to visit the shop if your in need of some product as well as checking out some ‘mini case studies’ for projects we’ve worked on in the past:
John Deere Showroom (Ashby)
The premises, a former car showroom, are located near the marina on the Ashby de la Zouch canal, and built in a rustic style to complement the local area. However, the external laminated timber beams had started to become badly weathered and required attention.
As a load bearing beam it was imperative that repairs were promptly undertaken to ensure structural safety. IWP Dansk were tasked with the project to repair the large laminated beam and bring it back to its original condition.
The Old Post Office (Washington)
A delicate refurbishment of a shopfront in the Washington village, Tyne & Wear, on the outskirts of Sunderland. One of the key features of the conservation strategy was to avoid the use of modern materials such as uPVC and repair rather than replace the original timber framed windows. We carried out a detailed inspection and decided that we could refurbish the original timber windows and fittings. We also saved the owner over £4000 – an 80% cost saving on the original quotation.
Training CPD for Operatives
Whilst we carry out repairs and service the industry we also take time out to train up other companies and also our own staff about how to artistically use the product we use and distribute. IWP carried out repairs to a historic hotel in Conway Bay, the cherry on the cake being the repair and restoration of their decorative finials.
